A Chance to Shine, Steve's first book, co-written with Allen Shamblin has been selected as a companion book for One Book, One Philadelphia. The Goal of One Book, One Philadelphia is to promote reading, literacy, library use, and community building by motivating tens of thousands of people to read an annual featured selection.

Steve is honored to have his book chosen and excited that A Chance to Shine will play a role in such a wonderful project. Marking the seventh consecutive year for One Book, One Philadelphia, the 2009 program runs from January 14 to March 19, 2009.
Welcome to the new website...

Welcome to my new website! It looks similiar to the old one - but there are many new features including a VIDEOS page, a link to MYSPACE, a TESTIMONIALS page and a GUESTBOOK where you can leave comments or ask questions.

The new site has several ways for you to listen to or buy my music, too. I've included a page of downloads of many of the songs I've written with children in schools on the new SCHOOL SONGS page. They're free!

I'm excited to announce that my last two CDs are available for downloading on my STORE page. You can get individual songs or the entire CD. All of my CDs are also available at CD Baby and iTunes.

If you want to know what's going on in my world, check out Steve's Corner or email me. I love hearing from you.

Seskin, the writer of major country music hits recorded by Tim McGraw, Mark Wills, John Michael Montgomery, Collin Raye, Neal McCoy, and Ricochet, decided to indulge them.

"I have never written a song like this at a school — ever! I think this is fabulous," Seskin told the class of fifth-graders who helped write a verse and the bridge for the song, titled In a Haunted House."

Article about Steve's Prairie Hill School Assemblies
Oct 23, 2008
From the Rockford Register Star:

"Prairie Hill middle school teacher Elizabeth Hand made a connection to a singer and songwriter three years ago in Nashville. Almost instantly, the connection turned into a pursuit to bring the artist to Prairie Hill.

It took work, but on Thursday, Hand’s vision became a reality as Steve Seskin performed at three assemblies and spoke to all grade levels, kindergarten through eighth grade, to pass the message of zero tolerance for bullying and 100 percent need for universal respect."
