Steve has written well over 1000 songs with students at public and private schools as well as music camps for young people.

“Nobody Quite Like You” was commissioned by Chinook elementary in Vancouver WA. The school had been having some problems with kids getting teased for being unique. According to the principal, Joe Lapidus, this song helped transform the culture of the school community.

“I Want a School” was written for a school in Brooklyn NY with the students in the video. Their excitement is irresistible and over and above the process of writing, the subliminal messages of kindness and a love of learning are evident in the tone of the lyrics and the spirit of the music.

More Than A Teacher to Me was written for Lincoln elementary school in Huntington IN and commissioned by the Honeywell Educational Outreach program to honor a teacher in the district who died suddenly.

Lincoln Elementary School teacher Lynda Laatsch passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Mrs. Laatsch taught at HCCSC for 27 years in multiple buildings. In her honor, fifth grade students at Lincoln recently collaborated with accomplished singer and songwriter Steve Seskin to produce the song “More Than a Teacher to Me.”
